Like many people around the world, we have been fascinated with lions since a very young age. So, whenever we see, hear or think of the SAFARI, the first thing that comes to mind is the ROAR of the most iconic, majestic, and revered land animals - the lions. And that is how we came up with SAFARIROAR here in Southern California, USA where we are inspired to make quality clothes that fit well with superior comfort, style and our unique design patterns while also contributing to making a positive difference in the lion population for current and future generations.
LION POPULATION FACTS
It's a picture of a wild lioness standing in the middle of a vast dry grassland in beautiful Africa. However, our interpretation is, perhaps, she is trying to survive and wondering where her pride is and where to go from here.
According to wildlifeday.org, “Over a century ago, there were more than 200,000 wild lions living in Africa, but recent surveys estimate that in the last two decades, lion numbers have declined from approximately 30,000 to about 20,000.” This precipitous decline in wild lion population, according to National Geographic, is due to poaching, trophy hunting and loss of habitat. As a matter of fact, “the lions are currently listed as vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
